WHAT YOU SAID

THERE’S been quite a reaction to the news that Rhondda Cynon Taf council will soon clamp down on dog walkers in the county borough.

Some were sceptical about how the new scheme would be enforced.

“Who’s going to police this? I haven’t a dog but it infuriates me when you go out and see mess everywhere.

“People should not have dogs if they can’t take responsibility for cleaning up their mess.

“I was up Clydach Lakes yesterday and the amount of mess I had to dodge whilst running was unbelievable!” Others broadly agreed with the new rules.

“I’ve got two dogs, always pick up the mess even though one of my dogs likes to do it in instalments and I can use up to five bags on one trip.

“Annoys the hell out of me seeing the mess other dog owners leave behind.”

“Well as a dog owner I agree but try catching the culprits who leave their dog poo and the ones who do bag it but decide to leave it any way, more dog bins are needed though.” And others were annoyed the new rules are too tough.

“So then, responsible dog owners who take bags are being told to keep their dogs on leads?

“Why should our dogs be punished to not run free because of irresponsible other dog owners?

“Not me, my dogs will run free.”
