Teatime at Hogwarts
A HARRY Potter-themed afternoon tea is coming to Aberdare.
Magical props will be handed out to guests so they can feel like they’re truly at Hogwarts.
MOST afternoon teas are served on dainty cake stands – but a new Harry Potter-themed treat comes in handcrafted trunks.
Aimed at both children and adults, the tea features the traditional selection of finger sandwiches and cakes, but delights like Mandrake chocolate soil cake, acid pop lollies and cheesy wands are also on the menu.
And while diners are invited to go along to the event in Aberdare in fancy dress to celebrate JK Rowling’s schoolboy wizard, they will also be handed a number of magical props on arrival so they feel like they really could be in Hogwarts.
And they can mark the occasion with some all-important selfies, of course.
The Harry Potter afternoon tea will be served at Cafe Cwtch, Dare Valley Country Park, on Sunday, August 27 at 3pm.
While it is a one-off event as part of the annual music extravaganza GlamFest, the cafe is hoping it will become a regular fixture if the demand for a Harry Potter-themed afternoon tea is there.
The event is all part of GlamFest – a two-day festival at Dare Valley Country Park on Saturday, August 26 and Sunday, August 27.
It celebrates the Glam Organisation which launched in 2014 and has been very busy promoting and supporting youth music.
Every year the festival brings together hundreds of former ‘Glammers’ for a reunion concert alongside young musicians to perform at St David’s Hall, Cardiff.
However, they are celebrating the festivities with a whole Bank Holiday weekend jam-packed with opportunities, including free music workshops, courtyard performances, stalls and a big musical family barbecue.
It costs £15.95 for adults and £10.95 for children. To book, please message Cafe Cwtch on its Facebook page, or to find out more, visit the Glam Organisation website at www.theglam.org.uk
