They’re selling us down the river
THE UK is no longer a democratic country. How can one respect politicians of any persuasion when they act like children who have their toys thrown out of the pram?
We have to listen to past politicians and ex-Prime Ministers pontificating on the current position when they have caused many of our current problems. They have sold many of our assets to foreign companies and one can see the result in our car companies and utilities.
Mr Corbyn promised students he would return their fees and wipe out their debts and many were fooled into voting for him, some twice. There is no wonder he wants to reduce the voting age to 16, so these gullible youngsters succumb to false promises. The antics of the politicians at the recent Glastonbury Festival left much to be desired.
Mr Blair is visiting various countries’ premiers and politicians in order to endear himself to Europeans and try to stop Brexit.
It’s time we stopped paying for security for ex-Prime Ministers as there is not a poor one amongst them. This money could be better spent on the police and NHS. Mr Blair could sell some of his houses. He was the one who harped on about education, education, education and then left students with huge debts.
Mr Carwyn Jones is now cosying up to Nicola Sturgeon, whose only interest is the break-up of the UK. She can’t do it on her own as the people of Scotland showed her in the last election. Mr Jones has fallen for her wiles.
Everyone seems to forget how much money we pay into the EU yearly which is squandered by the MEPs and the administration to give themselves a very comfortable life with high salaries and expenses. So far the EU has been unable to balance its books or produce correct financial information on its expenditure.
The anti-Brexit campaigners have tried by fair means and foul to state that all information produced by the proBrexit camp is false while they embellish the facts to suit their own purpose.
They have tried to extend the time since the vote in order to frighten the ordinary people into submission to prevent the country leaving the EU. The EU needs us to purchase its goods.
Our borders leak like a sieve and Europe, especially France and Germany, are only too happy to direct everyone to enter the UK. Many receive benefits they would not get in their country of origin. This is to the detriment of the elderly who have contributed financially to the UK coffers all their working life.
All the politicians are selling us down the river through the back door and have no interest in looking after the British people as a whole.
It’s time they got on with the job and stop pontificating and giving way to all the EU demands. Iona David Pontyclun
