Make a difference to children’s lives

-

IT’S that time of the year again, with children getting ready to go back to school after the long summer break.

It won’t just be pupils and staff preparing to return though. Our dedicated team of NSPCC ‘Speak Out Stay Safe’ volunteers will be getting ready to visit every primary school across Wales.

Speak Out Stay Safe is an innovative service delivered to children via special assemblies which warn children in an age-appropriate way about the dangers of abuse and where they can get help – including from Childline.

Across Rhondda Cynon Taf in the 2016/17 school year we spoke to 4,664 children and visited 24 schools to deliver Speak Out Stay Safe and we want to reach even more this school year.

Hopefully by reaching as many children as we can we’ll give young people the tools to protect themselves from all forms of abuse.

To do this though, we need your help.

We are appealing for more volunteers to support our programme in schools and help protect the next generation from harm.

Volunteering is a fantastic way to give something back whilst also learning new skills and meeting new people.

With a minimum commitment of three morning or afternoon school visits a month, you can make a big difference to many children’s lives.
