AFC LLWYDCOED ........ 3 PANTEG ......................... 4

PANTEG gained an enthralling victory with the winning goal arriving in extra-time from Luke Dyke to complete his hattrick after trailing 3-1 in normal time.

Llwydcoed’s Ricky Carter also scored three.

The Llwydcoed management team of Lee Williams and Leighton Price decided to make a few changes with Tomos Morris and Adam Butler receiving the call.

The match began with Panteg dominating for the opening spell with Lewis Iles combining with Alex Probert and Dwain Hunt. Llwydcoed were not being allowed to build any attacks and could easily have conceded on more than one occasion. The Llwydcoed goal had a charmed life, more pressure by Panteg but unbelievably no goals and then totally against the run of play Llwydcoed scored through Ricky Carter, he found space and scored with a quality finish. The one-goal advantage did not last long, Luke Dyke found space in the Llwydcoed defence and equalised. Panteg were still the more settled team playing with understanding but after a torrid opening the Llwydcoed midfield finally got to gain some possession but it took a superb clearance from defender Gabriel Williams who found Ricky carter who scored with another top finish. The match had swung towards Llwydcoed who finished the half on top, they almost added to their goal total and had a penalty claim waved away.

The second half started and Llwydcoed were the team controlling the game, the opposite to the start of the first half with Tomos Morris, Leon Bansal, Oliver Roberts and Jay Woodford combining and during this spell Ricky Carter scored to complete his hat-trick. The match was being dominated by Llwydcoed. The Panteg goalkeeper Mark Randall saved bravely to prevent the certain goals saving from Liam Price and Ricky Carter. More good play by Llwydcoed and then Panteg turned defence into attack winning possession. Lewis Isles broke clear, hit a top cross to the far post and Luke Dyke scored his second, the match had swung back to Panteg. Although Llwydcoed had chances, Panteg began to find too much space in the Llwydcoed shape. They introduced Morgan Andrews and Cian Cable and kept their one-goal advantage but Panteg again found too much space and Lewis Iles equalised, shooting past a few Llwydcoed players to score past Andy Hargreaves. The two-goal advantage had been thrown away the match scores were level so the match went into extratime.

Both teams had chances in extra-time; Panteg almost scoring through Michael Passmore and Lewis Iles whereas Llwydcoed came close through Tomos Morris and Liam Price. The introduction of Llwydcoed substitutes Christopher Stonelake gave them another attacking opportunity but Panteg again broke out of defence and Lewis Iles, Alex Robert and Dwain Hunt combined moving the ball across the Llwydcoed shape giving Luke Dyke his opportunity to score and complete his hat-trick and record a remarkable victory 3-4 considering they were 3-1 down at one stage.
