3G sports pitch plan for school

A COMMUNITY 3G sports pitch could soon be on the horizon in Penywaun thanks to funding from Rhondda Cynon Taf Council.

Funding has been allocated to develop a 3G pitch in Ysgol Gyfun Rhydywaun in Penywaun as part of a £7m investment around the borough.

A total of £650,000 has been agreed to develop the facility along with a pitch at Bryncelynnog Comprehensive School in Beddau.

The decision was taken as part of a council cabinet meeting held on October 26.

Subject to approval by full council in November, investment in the area will also see the extension of the park and ride facilities in Abercynon as well as the development of a bypass in Llanharan.
