Oh yes it is... time to book your tick­ets for an­nual panto

AN award-win­ning play­wright and Welsh ac­tor will re­turn to the­atres to play the tra­di­tional panto dame in Aladdin this Christ­mas, writes Kris­tine Bree Clif­ford.

Rhondda-born Frank Vick­ery will star as Widow Twankey through­out De­cem­ber hot on the heels of RCT coun­cil’s smash-hit panto Dick Whit­ting­ton last sea­son.

For Frank, it will be his sev­enth ap­pear­ance as the tra­di­tional panto dame, and he will star along­side Maxwell James as Aladdin and Laura Cle­ments as Princess Jas­mine.

Coun Ann Crim­mings, cab­i­net mem­ber for en­vi­ron­ment and leisure said: “We’re is de­lighted to once again wel­come Frank Vick­ery back onto our stages.

“He has worked in our the­atres for many years and is now a pan­tomime in­sti­tu­tion as well as be­ing a very tal­ented play­wright in his own right.”

Aladdin runs at the Coli­seum The­atre, Aber­dare on se­lected dates be­tween De­cem­ber 1 and 10, and the Park and Dare The­atre, Tre­orchy, be­tween De­cem­ber 16 and 24.
