Oh yes it is... time to book your tickets for annual panto
AN award-winning playwright and Welsh actor will return to theatres to play the traditional panto dame in Aladdin this Christmas, writes Kristine Bree Clifford.
Rhondda-born Frank Vickery will star as Widow Twankey throughout December hot on the heels of RCT council’s smash-hit panto Dick Whittington last season.
For Frank, it will be his seventh appearance as the traditional panto dame, and he will star alongside Maxwell James as Aladdin and Laura Clements as Princess Jasmine.
Coun Ann Crimmings, cabinet member for environment and leisure said: “We’re is delighted to once again welcome Frank Vickery back onto our stages.
“He has worked in our theatres for many years and is now a pantomime institution as well as being a very talented playwright in his own right.”
Aladdin runs at the Coliseum Theatre, Aberdare on selected dates between December 1 and 10, and the Park and Dare Theatre, Treorchy, between December 16 and 24.
