“This is why the council is expanding the support for them by providing funding for Christmas trees and festive lighting and for a range of Christmas events across the county borough’s town centres.
“Last year, our Christmas events brought thousands of visitors into our town centres, providing a boost to the local economy and an opportunity for each of our town centres to showcase what they have to offer.
“This year we are going even further, with Christmas events planned in Llantrisant and Ferndale as well as Aberdare, Mountain Ash, Porth, Treorchy, Tonypandy and Pontypridd.
“On top of guest appearances from Santa, there will also be many attractions in our towns, along with the switching on of the Christmas lights.”
