Com­mu­nity stops to re­mem­ber those who gave their life

PEO­PLE around the Cynon Val­ley have been re­mem­ber­ing those who gave their life in ser­vice and there are a num­ber of other events tak­ing place this week­end. The Aber­dare Branch of the Royal Bri­tish Le­gion has an­nounced its events for Re­mem­brance 2017.

Firstly, a short ser­vice will take place at the Ceno­taph, Vic­to­ria Square, Aber­dare on Novem­ber 11 at 11am.

Then, the Re­mem­brance Pa­rade and Ser­vice will take place on Novem­ber 12.

The pa­rade will form at Aber­dare Li­brary at 10.15am and march off at 10.35am to the Ceno­taph, Vic­to­ria Square.

The ser­vice and wreath lay­ing will take place at 11am. A ser­vice will also take place on that day at the Ll­wyd­coed War Memo­rial at 3pm.

Else­where, last week, chil­dren from Miskin, Dar­ren­las, Glen­boi and Cae­garw Pri­mary Schools came to­gether to sing and pray at the Memo­rial Gar­den in Moun­tain Ash to cel­e­brate the open­ing of the 2017 Poppy Day ap­peal.
