EMPHATIC AWAY WIN FOR TYLORSTOWN

-

OLD PENARTHIANS .. 13 TYLORSTOWN ............ 34

TYLORSTOWN continued their recent good form with an emphatic away victory at Old Penarthians.

This was an outstanding performance from the Rhondda side against an organised and welldrilled home side.

Old Penarthians took the lead when a Tylorstown attack broke down allowing the Seasiders to move up field and score wide out.

Tylorstown’s attacking play was built as ever on a dominant display from the forwards.

The scrum provided Tylorstown with good ball and allowed scrum half Dylan Lewis to dictate matters.

Unfortunately the home team elected to go for passive scrums which negated this advantage.

Tylorstown were awarded a penalty try just before the scrums went passive due to the opposition props going to ground.

Wing Chris Griffiths had a very productive afternoon and scored two tries for Tylorstown, the first converted by Lewis.

In the second half Tylorstown were unstoppable and played some sublime rugby with further tries from No 8 Dai Hefford, centre Kieran Richards and a cracking team try finished by full back Sean Webber.

Old Penarthians scored a try late to bring them into double figures.

Next week secondplaced Tylorstown entertain Canton at Penrhys Park.
