Pupils’ talents impress audience at choir’s festive concert

-

PRIMARY school children joined the Cwmbach Male Choir for their annual festive concert at the Coliseum Theatre last month.

Pupils from Cwmdare Primary School sang with the locally renowned male group for the annual Concert At Christmas.

A special award was given by Cwmbach Male Choir to Jayne Thomas who has accompanied them for many years, in recognition of her contribution to the ongoing success.

Another surprise in the show came during the finale.

As the choir were singing White Christmas, a “severe snow storm” began, as members of the audience were covered during the event on December 16.

The choir’s spokesman said: “For the duration of the song, it snowed incessantly on the audience with some attendees completely covered and hairstyles ruined.”

He added: “Cwmbach Choir sang with passion, power and sensitivity and also displayed their ‘dancing’ skills which both entertained and amused the audience.

“Strictly need not fear the competition!

“The children from Cwmdare Primary School were superb, with a grasp of musical timing and subtlety which was way beyond their age group. They are a talented group of singers who delighted the audience with every song they sang and are a credit to their school and to their parents.

“Their talents have been clearly inspired by the efforts of the choir conductor Lisa Davies and accompanist Carys Crimmins.”
