THE case of a woman accused of murdering her husband was listed at Cardiff Crown Court on Monday, January 8.

Natasha Jex was due to appear before Judge Eleri Rees via video link from HM Eastwood Park Prison for an application for bail.

The 31-year-old from Llyswen in Penywaun, Aberdare, is charged with murder and has not yet entered a plea.

She is accused of killing 52-year-old Neal Jex – a dad-of-one.

The alleged incident occurred in the Penywaun area of Aberdare on Sunday, December 17 last year.

She appeared at Merthyr Tydfil Magistrates’ Court two days later, charged with the offence.

Her case was listed in the crown court for an application for bail, but her barrister John Ryan said: “My instructions are not to pursue the application for bail.”

Judge Rees noted the application had been withdrawn.

In 2011, the Leader’s website WalesOnline reported Neal Jex had married Natasha Jex in a double wedding.

His first name was originally spelt Neil, but his family uses the spelling Neal.

Paying tribute, his family said: “We are completely devastated. We have lost a brother, son, father, grandfather and friend.”
