FRIDAY LETHAL WEAPON (ITV, 9pm)

RETURN of the US action drama series inspired by the hit films. In this opening episode, Riggs (Clayne Crawford) is in Mexico, where he plans to avenge wife Miranda’s death and finish off Tito Flores (Danny Mora) once and for all - but the cop’s loyal partner Murtaugh (Damon Wayans) is on his trail.

Once the duo are back in the US, they face some tough questions due to the ongoing investigat­ion into Flores’ activities – and Murtaugh’s family also have a few points they’d like to get cleared up.

SATURDAY THE VOICE UK (ITV, 8pm)

OLLY Murs made his debut on the show last week, joining Black Eyed Pea Will.i.am and all-round legend Tom Jones, who both appeared on The Voice before it made the jump from BBC to ITV, and Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson, who was in the spinning chair last year.

In tonight’s second blind audition, the former X Factor finalist continues the process of assembling his team of singers.

SUNDAY THE CORONATION (ITV, 8pm)

DOCUMENTAR­Y chroniclin­g the 65th anniversar­y of the day when Princess Elizabeth entered Westminste­r Abbey and left it as Queen Elizabeth II.

Grainy footage of the day and eyewitness accounts from some of those who participat­ed, will be showcased here, alongside royal historian Alastair Burnett’s exclusive interview with Her Majesty.

Their chat is the centrepiec­e of the programme, but there’s also a chance to learn more about the objects used in the ceremony, as well as the traditions surroundin­g it.

MONDAY SILENT WITNESS (BBC One, 9pm)

JACK (David Caves) is down the gym, boxing with his sparring partner DCI Naomi Silva (Kiza Deen), when he is called to a crime scene.

While Nikki (Emilia Fox) is busy examining the body of a young woman, Karen Sawyers (Belinda McGinley), Jack is surprised to find the SIO on the case is none other than Silva.

The forensic evidence leads the team to a cosmetic clinic, where a pregnant Karen had received various treatments seemingly free of charge. CEO Simon Laing (Nitin Ganatra) is initially uncooperat­ive – until a second body is discovered.

TUESDAY BRITAIN’S FAVOURITE DOGS: TOP 100 (ITV, 7.30pm)

DOG-LOVERS Sara Cox and Ben Fogle set out to find which breed is the most popular in this 90-minute one-off.

They’ll learn more about the heritage, key characteri­stics and personalit­y traits of every breed, illustrate­d by slowmotion images of the dog. They’ll also be sharing the stories of some of the nation’s most talented and heroic hounds.

And we’ll also meet some celebrity owners, including former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell, Coronation Street actor Simon Gregson, style guru Gok Wan, chef James Martin, presenter Gabby Logan, gymnast Louis Smith, singer Michael Ball and This Morning’s Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby. Even Prince Harry makes an appearance!

WEDNESDAY MILLIONAIR­ES’ EX-WIVES CLUB (BBC Two, 9pm)

ACCORDING to this documentar­y, being married to a multi-millionair­e has it’s downside – it can seem the more money a couple have, the more acrimoniou­s the divorce will be.

Cameras follow two women who engaged in bitter legal battles with their wealthy former husbands to learn more about what motivated them – and whether it was worth it.

THURSDAY GREAT ART (ITV, 10.45pm)

PREVIOUS editions of the series featured a look at Canaletto – whose paintings of Venice are arguably more popular now than they were in his 18th-century heyday – and Impression­ists including Monet, Cezanne, Degas and Renoir.

This week, it’s the turn of Michelange­lo to take centre stage, the great Renaissanc­e painter, sculptor and architect who remains an inspiratio­nal figure more than 500 years after his death. Hosted by art historian Tim Marlow.
