Star joins charity show

WEST End star Peter Karrie has teamed up with dozens of talented children for a charity concert.

All money raised will go to Cynon Valley PALS.

REHEARSALS are underway for a concert featuring a West End star in aid of a Cynon Valley charity that helps children with disabiliti­es.

The concert for charity Cynon Valley PALS will feature songs from the musicals by Peter Karrie with special guests Aberdare Town Church Primary School choir.

The charity helps provide holiday play schemes for children with disabiliti­es aged three to 11.

Cynon Valley PALS vice chair Lisa Walstow said “We are delighted that Peter Karrie is coming to sing in Aberdare and raising some much needed funds for our charity.

“All of the money raised will go directly towards supporting children with disabiliti­es and their families. We hope that local people will come out and support us at what is sure to be a great night.”

Peter Karrie has starred in several West End production­s, including Les Misérables and Chess, but is best known for playing the title role in The Phantom of the Opera.

Cynon Valley PALS also organise family activities during the school holidays and term time.

The charity said the activities help children develop social skills and allows parents to meet other families who are in similar positions.

The concert will take place on May 11 at 7pm at Aberdare Community School.
