COWBRIDGE recorded a thumping nine-wicket victory at home to Dafen Welfare to maintain pressure on Gorseinon at the top of the South Wales Cricket Associatio­n Division One table.

The hosts won the toss and elected to bat, posting an impressive 249-5 with Nick Poole scoring 114.

In response, Aberdare made 219 all out from 46.3 overs with Thomas Rees putting together an innings of 53.
