COWBRIDGE recorded a thumping nine-wicket victory at home to Dafen Welfare to maintain pressure on Gorseinon at the top of the South Wales Cricket Association Division One table.

In response, Cowbridge needed just 25 overs to reach their victory target with opener Tom Merilaht hitting 58 not out as the hosts posted 138-1.

Gorseinon registered their ninth Division One victory of the season with a three-wicket success away to Llandysul to maintain their title charge.

Gowerton recorded their sixth victory of the season with a three-wicket victory at home to Merthyr Tydfil.

The visitors won the toss and elected to bat, posting 197-7 from their 50 overs. Blaine Harris was the pick of the batsman for Merthyr, posting a score of 51.

In response, Gowerton reached 198-7 from 44.4 overs with Thomas Davies posting an impressive 78 not out to seal victory for the hosts.

Mid-table Maesteg Celtic posted their sixth victory of the season with a 30-run victory at home to Aberdare.

The hosts won the toss and elected to bat, posting an impressive 249-5 with Nick Poole scoring 114.

In response, Aberdare made 219 all out from 46.3 overs with Thomas Rees putting together an innings of 53.
