Training scheme offers chance to enter TV and film industry
DO you fancy a career in the TV and film? Young people from Rhondda Cynon Taf are once again being given the opportunity to get their first taste of life in the industry.
Rhondda Cynon Taf Council is continuing to support It’s My Shout, a free training scheme, open to experienced and inexperienced creative people aged 16 and above.
Their annual recruitment drive takes place in Rhondda Cynon Taf this month, at Temple Baptist Church Hall, Pontypridd, on Thursday, March 21 (5pm).
Each year, It’s My Shout produces short films for BBC Wales, S4C, Welsh Government and Arts Council of Wales. They offer a wide range of opportunities in the creative industry by sharing experiences, developing skills and boosting confidence. They are passionate about nurturing, developing and discovering new talent.
Councillor Rhys Lewis, Cabinet Member for Stronger Communities, Well-Being and Cultural Services, said: “There are so many talented young people across our communities looking to get into the television and film industry and It’s My Shout is there to offer them a fantastic opportunity to kick-start start their careers.
“It’s My Shout, with the support of the council, continues to recognise the artistic and creative talents of our young people.
“Over the years it has opened so many doors of opportunity for our young people, with many past trainees going on to become professionals within the TV and film industry.”
The It’s My Shout recruitment sessions takes place at Temple Baptist Church Hall, Pontypridd, on Thursday, March 21 (5pm). All are welcome. Admission is free and no tickets required.
