RTM BRICKWORK SENIOR CUP

MERTHYR Saints 2-3 Aber Wanderers: After several postponements this game finally went ahead and it was the visitors who triumphed, but only narrowly.

Most of the goals came in the first half with the decisive winner coming in the second half. Leon O’Leary got both home goals with Kyle Thomas, Jonathan Foster and Ben Davies netting for the Wanderers.

PREMIER DIVISION

BLACK Lion 0-3 Pantyscallog VJ: Pant knew that three points were needed from this game to keep the pressure table toppers Aber Wanderers who were in cup action.

They went about their job and came through against a resilient black side. Pant goals came from Jonathan Vaughan (2) and Conor Eynon. GURNOS FC 2-4 Quar Park Rangers: the visitors with this win went joint top of the division and weather permitting the next few weeks will see the division take real shape.

David Davies with a brace kept the Gurnos in the game but it wasn’t enough with four goals from the visitors.

TREBANOG 2-1 Heolgerrig Red Lion PENYDARREN BGC 3-1 Tonyrefail: This first round cup game saw Pen host the table toppers and a good game was expected.

Both teams were up for it and an entertaining first half saw Pen leading narrowly 2-1.

The second half saw both sides searching for the win but it was Pen who got the only goal and a place in the next round was secured.

Home goals came from Eddie Lloyd Bedford with two and one from Ossian Wiltshire.

HEOLGERRIG Red Lion 1-7 Llwynypia: This was another poor performance by the Red, they found themselves 6-0 down at the break and with a mountain to climb.

To their credit they did give it a go in the second half and were rewarded with a Rodriguez De Sousa goal but no cup run this season.
