TRIBUTES have been paid to a “beautiful” five-year-old boy found dead in a river in Bridgend on Saturday.

The boy has been named by South Wales Police as Logan Williamson. He was found in the early hours of Saturday morning after police received a report of a missing child.

A statement from South Wales Police said: “Detectives are continuing to investigate the death of a five year-old boy in Sarn, Bridgend. He has been named as Logan Mwangi, also known as Logan Williamson from Sarn.”

Police said on Sunday evening that a 39-year-old man, 30-year-old woman and 13-year-old boy, all from the Bridgend area, had been arrested on suspicion of murder and are currently in police custody.

The force said it was not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident.

On Monday, divers were pictured in the water searching the river where the five-year-old was found.

Forensic teams have also been seen searching addresses in Lower Llansantffraid, Sarn.

People have paid tribute on social media and in messages placed with floral tributes to the “kind, funny, polite, handsome and clever” boy.

Locals have paid their respects by leaving teddy bears at a lamppost near where he was found.

One tribute at the scene read: “Dear Logan, a shining light has gone out.

“You have been taken away too soon. “I will miss your smile.” Another note, attached to a teddy, read: “Thinking of you at this horrible time. Sorry for your loss.”

A date has not yet been set for an inquest into Logan’s death.

On 5.45am on Saturday, officers were called to a report of concern for a missing fiveyear-old in Sarn, Bridgend.

Officers attended and found the body of the child in the Ogmore River near Pandy Park.
