THE second week brought goals galore with Trelewis Welfare leading the pack.

PREMIER DIVISION Bedlinog 3-7 Trelewis Welfare:

This was a goal fest of a game with the first half seeing the visitors edging it at the interval. C. Martin started the scoring for the visitors, but R. Williams quickly levelled before T. Lewis scored and then R. Williams got his second goal but T. Lewis popped up to give Trelewis the lead again.

The second half saw Trelewis take control and C. Clingo netted a hat-trick with C. Jay getting the seventh goal. S. Ali scored Bedlinog’s second half goal. Trelewis Welfare B 0-8 Merthyr Saints: Don’t be deceived by the score, Trelewis gave their all and with better finishing it could have been a different score line. At half time Saints led 4-0 with goals from Andre Maia, J. Morris, Ian Cleary and an own goal.

An early second half goal from Andre Maia settled things then Ian Cleary popped up with two further goals and J. Thomas got the eighth.

Baili Glas 3-7 Trelewis Welfare:

A game with everything, goals, chances, mistakes and errors, Baili opened the scoring with J. Mytton but were soon pegged back when O. Bufton and C. Martin gave the visitors the lead. D. Hiscock and D. Jones gave the advantage to the Baili but a goal from D. Tilley made it all square at the break.

The second half then belonged to the visitors, and they scored four more through D. Sussex (2), C. Clingo and C. Martin with his second.

Gurnos FC 1-3 Georgetown BGC:

This was a close-fought game with the team’s level at the break 1-1, the visitors goal came from B. Jones and the home goal an own goal. The second half saw the teams work hard to get the winning goal and on 76 minutes E. Bevan netted for the visitors. Gurnos pressed hard for an equaliser but the final goal of the came from B. Jones getting his second of the game. Pantyscall­og VJ v Aberfan Rangers: The home side were playing their first game on the newly layed 3G pitch at Merthyr Town FC and they didn’t have to wait long for their first goal, it came from Conner Eynon in the 12 th minute.

The second came from C. Williams and as half time approached the visitors who were working hard were rewarded with a goal from J. Ball but just before the break Eynon popped up with his second.

The second half saw the home side in control and with goals from C. Davies, J. Minett and N. Davies the three points were theirs.
