LORDE SOLAR POWER HHHHI

In June Lorde surprised fans with the release of the single Solar Power, which was also to be the name of her new album.

The single, co-written by Lorde and Jack Antonoff, got 30 million streams in its first five days – a sign of good things to come. And that good thing is definitely this third album.

Solar Power offers one hit after another. From the easy opener of The Path and throughout this 12-track album makes for a thought-provoking listen. Lorde does things in style and this album is no different.

ONLY HONEST ON THE WEEKEND BECKY HILL

HHHHH From her first performance on The Voice UK in 2012, it was clear Becky Hill was a special talent. Now a titan within dance music she is finally releasing her debut studio album after nearly 10 years in the industry.

It features the likes of David Guetta, 220 Kid and Sigala across the 15-track listing, and songs like I Got You and My Heart Goes (La Di Da) feel like instant club hits.

If the success of singles such as Remember and Last Time are anything to go by, and with people desperate to get back to the dancefloor, it feels like it is perfect timing for Hill to drop this instant classic dance album.

SATURDAY NIGHT, SUNDAY MORNING JAKE BUGG HHHII

As a guitar-slinging teenager Jake Bugg, now 27, was dismissive of the pop world, but he’s embraced it on Saturday Night, Sunday Morning, making it his most enjoyable album in years.

He’s not lost his knack of coming up with melodies you seem to have known forever the first time you hear them, as with gospel-tinged opening track All I Need and the ridiculously catchy About Last Night.

Bugg fully embraces his pop sensibilities on the single Rabbit Hole, while Lonely Hours and Screaming both have 1970s influences.

Lost is for the dancefloor and Downtown, a poignant piano-led ballad about going raving on summer nights, is made for waving phone torches at gigs
