TENOVUS Cancer Care are looking for thrill seekers to join them at Zip World Tower, Aberdare, for the charity’s On a Mission Zip Wire Challenge on the world’s fastest seated zip line.

You could be one of the 100 supporters testing their limits on the Phoenix zip line on Sunday, October 3, and ravel at speeds up to 70mph, all while taking in the scenery of the Cynon Valley and Llyn Fawr reservoir.

On the same day, supporters in North Wales will also be taking on a zip wire challenge, The Titan 2 Zipline in Blaenau Ffestiniog.

Rebecca Edmunds, Fundraising Development Executive at Tenovus Cancer Care, said: “Since the beginning of the pandemic the charity has needed the support of people in communities more than ever.

“This exciting event is an opportunity to get together with friends and family, to have fun, tick an item off your bucket list, and be part of something really special to support those affected by cancer.”

The challenge is raising money for Wales’ leading cancer charity, Tenovus Cancer Care, as part of its activities for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Each year, 55,000 women in the UK are diagnosed with Breast Cancer. That’s 150 women a day. Tenovus Cancer Care is on a mission this October to go pink and continue to raise money and awareness for this important cause.

In the 1970s researchers at the Tenovus Institute for Cancer Research helped develop the use of Tamoxifen, the most widely used breast cancer drug in the world. Since then, it’s gone on to save the lives of millions of women with breast cancer.

By taking part in this challenge, you’ll be helping to support cancer patients and their loved ones in Wales and beyond.

Registration for the event is £15 and all the charity asks in return is that you pledge to raise a minimum of £100 sponsorship.
