Free two-day food festival returns

-

A FREE food festival, which attracted around 13,000 people to its previous events, is returning this year.

The Big Welsh Bite is a food and drink festival which is making its return to Pontypridd’s Ynysangharad Park on August 6 and 7, and hopes to welcome back people from across the country.

The two-day festival hopes to offer a wide selection of food, as well as craft stalls, and other attractions like in previous years. The 2022 event will be sponsored by Nathaniel Cars.

The event promises fun, food and entertainment for all the family. It will offer live cookery demonstrations, delicious food and sweet treats for sale. There’ll also be live entertainment.

The event is organised by Rhondda Cynon Taf council for the What’s On RCT events calendar.

Simon Gale, director of prosperity and development at Rhondda Cynon Taf Council, said: “We are so pleased to see the return of our What’s On RCT events programme.

“It has been a difficult few years and we are looking forward to bringing people together in beautiful destinations such as Ynysangharad War Memorial Park and Aberdare Park and our town centres, for events.

“We really do have something for everyone, from the dinosaurs and land train at Aberdare Festival to the food-lovers’ paradise that is the Big Welsh Bite.

“As well as being a great way for us to bring our communities together and celebrate life in Rhondda Cynon Taf, it’s also a chance for us to showcase our county borough to a wider audience, attracting visitors from further afield to spend time here and explore.”
