Planning applications
PLANS for nearly 300 homes on a former hospital site, the change of use from a library to a shop and cafe and the change of use from a GP surgery into a house are among the planning applications submitted in Rhondda Cynon Taf recently. ■■Plans have been submitted for a proposed extension of an existing industrial/warehouse unit at the former Harlech Hygienics Limited site on Colliers Way in Llwynypia. The plan also involves the diversion of the pedestrian footpath, associated earthworks for the alterations of the on-site infrastructure and the construction of a retaining structure; ■■A certificate of lawful development application has been made for the conversion of two apartments to a four bedroom house on Station Terrace in Pontyclun; ■■A full planning application for 299 houses on the former Aberdare General Hospital site on Abernant Road in Abernant have also been submitted including highways, parking, drainage, landscape and associated works; ■■The council has also received an application for the development of a solar farm with ancillary infrastructure, security fence, access, landscaping and continued agriculture at Bryngolwg Farm on Rhigos Road in Hirwaun; ■■There are plans to create an exit and entry point at the back of a property called Brook House on Main Road in Church Village using the parish council community car park access road; ■■Another application involves the change of use from a GP surgery to a house at Cardiff Road Surgery on Cardiff Road in Mountain Ash; ■■And there are plans to turn a library into a shop and cafe at Ferndale Library on High Street in Ferndale.
