JD CYMRU SOUTH

-

LLANELLI Town marched to the top of JD Cymru South thanks to a 6-0 home win over nine-man Abergavenny Town.

There was another clean sheet for the Reds, who have only conceded three goals in eight league games, with an avalanche of goals at the other end to keep the Stebonheath faithful fully entertained.

Ryan Bevan started the rout with a slightly comical goal from 25 yards. He hammered in a shot and visiting goalkeeper Sueimaine Susso tried to volley it away, but missed.

That broke the deadlock in the 21st minute and a minute later Tim Parker scored a second. Adam Robbins then made it 3-0 at the break. Abergavenny imploded in the second half, losing Norton Ferreira to a second yellow card in the 55th minute and then Efu Kazadi to a straight red in the 71st minute.

By then Keane Watts had added a fourth and a penalty from skipper Joe Hopkins and a sixth from Tom Hillman wrapped things up. Early leaders Briton Ferry Llansawel dropped more points at home as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Swansea University.

It wasn’t Danny Birch’s night at Ammanford as the home defender conceded an own goal and then saw red in the 77th minute after picking up a second yellow in his side’s 3-2 home defeat to Goytre United.

The visitors hit the front with a Gavin Jones goal and went two up thanks to Birch.

Kieran Howard clawed one back to make it 2-1 to Goytre at the break before Jones struck again in the 72nd minute.

Jordan Langley made it 3-2 in the 88th minute, but 10-man Ammanford couldn’t close find an equaliser. Cambrian & Clydach Vale’s 4-1 defeat at Pontardawe Town saw them slip to third as Barry Town United overtook them thanks to a 3-1 home win against Taffs Well
