JD CYMRU NORTH/SOUTH

BRITON Ferry Llansawel successfully negotiated three games in eight days to stay hot on the heels of JD Cymru South leaders Llanelli Town.

Their nine-point haul took them to within two points of The Reds with a game in hand. The two teams are due to clash on the final day of the season at Stebonheath.

The Ferrymen followed up their 2-1 win over Abertillery Bluebirds with a 2-1 midweek win over Afan Lido thanks to Luke Bowen and Tom Walters.

Three added time goals added to the drama in a 4-2 victory at Cwmbran Celtic at the weekend.

Alex Bonthron fired Celtic into a first-half lead before Kris Evans levelled just after the hour mark. Bowen then put the title chasers into the lead.

But it looked as though the game was heading for a draw when Alex Gammond put through his own goal in injury time. But a 93rd minute goal from Walters was followed by a 97th-minute effort from 18-year-old Caleb Demery.

Llanelli successfully negotiated their tricky trip to third-place Ammanfor with a 3-1 triumph. Tristan Jenkins put the home side ahead in the 24th minute, but The Reds were in control by the break thanks to replies from Sean Cronin and Josef Hopkins, who made the game safe just after the break.

Holywell Town are back on top of the JD Cymru North table after their 4-0 home win over Prestatyn Town in midweek, led by a Jamie Breese hat-trick.

A goal from skipper Rhys Nash earned Mold Alex a 1-0 home win over Gresford Athletic, while Iwan Matthews struck twice as Guilsfield beat Denbigh Town 4-1 at home. An 85th minute goal from Callum Francis-Jones, his second of the game, earned Caersws a 2-2 draw at Chirk AAA.
