ARIES MARCH 21- APRIL 20

You are always in a hurry, Aries, so take on board this cosmic message for 2013: slow down.

Protect your head, especially if you’re into high- impact sports. Take extra care early in this year when rushing could cause injury through knocks, bangs, bruises and cuts. Your head could be vulnerable so wear hoods and hats in the cold and goggles if using sharp tools in May, August and November.

You’re very active and always looking for adventure and this year you’re drawn to unusual sorts of activities such as sky- diving.

Cycling, horse- riding and martial arts would suit but there are two extra groups of activities that may be therapeutic for you this year.

The first consists of yoga, t’ai chi and meditation. The second is indulgence and that’s treating yourself to the occasional massage, especially one that involves the head.

Expect a new burst of power in March but November is challenging so give your health top priority then.

TAURUS APRIL 21- MAY 21

You may not be the fastest sprinter but just like David Beckham you possess staying power and with such endurance, you can outrun the toughest opponent.

However are you doing too much for others? The signs are that running after others this February will put a strain on your health. So if you find yourself fetching and carrying, insist that you make time for you.

Close the door, put your feet up and relax, especially in March and April. May is your month and it’s a time when you bloom and blossom and you may find yourself in a romantic mood.

Think image and treat yourself to a makeover and fresh new look but stay within budget otherwise you’ll just stress out over money which undoes all your hard work.

There’s pressure, too, if you’re travelling or studying, burning the midnight oil, worrying and fretting.

Take early nights to combat any mental fatigue and offload to a sympathetic friend or indulge in

some pampering treats.

GEMINI MAY 22- JUNE 21

All those good intentions to get fit after Christmas will evaporate after a few weeks as your resolve melts. That’s hardly surprising with Jupiter, the bon viveur of the zodiac, in your sign until June.

This is an irresistible force that helps you pile on the inches but whatever weight you put on in the first half of 2013, action man Mars will help you whittle it away as life steps up the beat this summer.

As you work out, play sport, run, jump or dig the garden as part of your exercise regime, pay extra attention to your muscles, knees, bones and joints as all are vulnerable areas for you this year.

With restrictive Saturn overseeing your health zone, it’s doubly wise to visit the dentist regularly and to protect your skin when in the sun.

April and November’s eclipses remind you to rest more. Changes are on your horizon and from now on it’s important to work smarter, to think healthier and to get yourself into a regular balanced routine.

CANCER JUNE 22 - JULY 23

There’s probably not a lot you can do about Christmas excesses until you’re into the second week in January, when indulgent Venus finally loosens her grip on your sweet tooth.

Only then will you and fellow Cancerians such as Meryl Streep have the willpower to turn your attention to healthier eating.

Exercise is always good but this year in particular, especially if you work in a sedentary job, it would be useful to find a sport or gentle activity you enjoy. The chances are you’ll stick to it for the later months when naughty- butnice Jupiter takes up residence in your sign. Jupiter is notorious for adding weight and inches and prompting strict diet regimes to go out of the window. If you’re used to regular physical activity, you may be able to forestall Jupiter’s sway.

If you start losing your sense of humour, get someone to tickle you quick as laughter is the best medicine and this year, for you

Cancer, it defi nitely is.

LEO JULY 24 - AUGUST 23

When Jupiter moves into the most sensitive sector of your chart later this year, you’ll discover a whole new side to yourself: a delicate understanding, an imaginative creativity and an appreciation of all things spiritual.

You’ll want time for refl ection and time to rest and regroup. Curiously, as the year warms into early summer and your body rests, so your subconscious will flower and produce ideas. Listen to that inner voice. Pace yourself, tend your garden and let the world go by. Late June sees you glowing as Venus boosts your looks and makes you ooze with seductive magnetism. Being a Leo, like actor Ben Affleck, means you belong to the fire element and it’s the heat of the summer that brings you alive. In September, you’re motivated to get moving and work away your stresses and frustrations, partly due to your short temper this month.

Get physical, as you know how activity pumps up the adrenaline and boosts your system.

VIRGO AUGUST 24- SEPTEMBER 23

January powers in with strength and vigour as Mars boosts your energy but you could find yourself wound up in the first couple of months of the year when rushing could lead to accidents, so beware.

On the other hand try not to get too complacent or sedentary. Insist on parking just a little further away and walk those extra few yards. Take the stairs not the lift and cycle rather than drive when you can manage.

You’re a worrier by nature but it’s your stomach and intestines that suffer so that’s why a good diet of whole foods and natural products is essential.

Mentally, much of the stresses and strains you experience early next year ease away in spring and in April you can breathe a sigh of relief.

Summer puts a glow in your cheeks and a flutter in your heart. August recharges you but in October, when action- packed Mars enters your sign, you’re dynamite. Stronger, faster and sharper than ever and from then until December, there’s no stopping you.

LIBRA SEPTEMBER 24 - OCTOBER 23

Though you’re feeling stronger and more energetic in the early part of the year, take extra care in February and March as you could be more prone to mishaps.

Get adequate exercise in spring, when the tendency will be to turn into a couch potato. Take better care of your feet in 2013. These will be your most vulnerable areas for some years to come. Wear sensible shoes and treat yourself to a pedicure now and again.

Sunshine planets in your sign in August and September mean you’ll come alive but that is also when you will be tempted to overstretch yourself and your reserves.

Try not to get too wound up in October and November. Like Basic Instinct star Michael Douglas all Librans should get some early nights in autumn as they need to rest more when they’re busy at work, juggling many disparate tasks.

Look after yourself and new zest will liven up your system in December, just in time to go full

pelt into the Christmas festivities.

SCORPIO OCTOBER 24 - NOVEMBER 22

There’s an unpredictable element to health matters this year and Saturn, in your sign now, puts bones, teeth, hair, skin and nails under pressure.

If there are to be vulnerable spots, chances are these will be the weak links that require extra care and attention through 2013 and beyond.

Eclipses in April, October and November especially target these areas and with Uranus, planet of the unexpected, tripping you up when you’re not looking, it will be easy to sprain an ankle, fall or hurt yourself. Watch out for stress as well, especially in June and July and again in September to October, when the pace increases substantially at work.

Late October brings a real spark of revitalising energy, although too much socialising and too many late nights out take their toll in November.

Get your Christmas preparations completed in good time this year to avoid burnout in December.

Don’t forget, Scorpio, that you really should organise more rest for yourself in the last month of the year.

SAGITTARIUS NOVEMBER 23 -DECEMBER 21

With all the work you’ll be doing around your home and garden this year, it looks as though you will be getting plenty of exercise through the first few months of 2013.

The signs that passionate Mars could be boosting your sex drive this year is a positive reinforcement as a tonic to both your physical and emotional health.

Apart from the eclipses in April, May and November, which urge you to slow down and focus on your own wellbeing, this is perhaps a year when you’ll be devoting your time to looking after others who need your special TLC.

Nevertheless, put heart health and de- stressing top of your own list for May and then again in October.

Take time out to travel or treat yourself to the odd long weekend break as this will help refresh mind and body in July.

The autumn may prompt a restyling or makeover. Whichever you choose it will be rejuvenating and uplift your spirits until the end of the year.

CAPRICORN DECEMBER 22 - JANUARY 20

You begin the year in buoyant mood and your spirits are at an all- time high as you go through January. On the downside, though, health could prove a pressure point throughout 2013.

Pluto, planet of transformation, is in your sign now and creating stress. It urges you to be sensible as you go about your daily activities, something the newly pregnant Duchess of Cambridge should heed.

Keeping your weight down will be a challenge especially for the first six months when Jupiter, notorious for expanding the hips and waistline, frolics through your health sector. In fact the stomach could prove your vulnerable area now. If those pounds are creeping up, you’ll start to take action at the end of May.

Getting and staying fit should be much easier once the- more-the- merrier- planet Jupiter leaves your health zone from the end of June. Go for that major image transformation in November.

AQUARIUS JANUARY 21- FEBRUARY 19

You may want to hide yourself away at the beginning of 2013 and a winter holiday at this time could be just the tonic you need to set yourself up for the whole year.

However, it will be late January and February that really bring you alive with new pep and gusto.

There’s a great deal of fun, love and romance in your stars this year and they’ll put a glow in your cheeks and a sparkle in your eye.

There’s much to celebrate, which could add a few inches to your middle, but there are also hassles, passions that boil over and work stresses and strains that take their toll on your health.

It’s important that you get as good a night’s sleep as you can, that you take gentle exercise, especially through the second half of the year, and that you find ways to offload some responsibilities.

There are supportive people around you who are willing to help so don’t hesitate to ask. Fix yourself up with a holiday at the end of the year, too.

PISCES FEBRUARY 20 - MARCH 20

All Pisceans, and that includes 007 star Daniel Craig, should be aware that 2013 is going to kick- off with a lively start.

With ideas going around your head, you’ll be wound up and restless. Switching off and getting a sound night’s sleep could prove to be a bit of a problem throughout January.

You’ll be jaded in February so take time off if you can. Open the windows and let the light flood in from late February to March as the stars awaken your spirits.

Health- wise, wear sensible shoes and take extra care of your feet. This advice needs to be heeded for years to come.

Recoup, recover and regenerate, though money is an issue, at least in the first half of the year. So fi nd simple pleasures such as playing with the children, developing your creative talents, joining a local am- dram group or booking art classes. All should bring pleasure. A new family member or pet could prove therapeutic for your health.
