Oasis reunion hint for Glasto

-

GLASTONBURY founder Michael

Eavis has added further fuel to the fi re regarding Oasis reunion rumours by telling Day & Night two British bands will be joining together to headline the legendary festival.

The event supremo, who has up to this point kept details of who will fi ll the coveted slot on the fi nal night close to his chest, let slip a little more when Day & Night pressed him on the matter following a Glastonbury talk at the Victoria & Albert museum on Tuesday night.

When we asked whom we might expect on the famous stage on the Sunday, he told us: “It is going to be two British bands.”

We had to ask whether they are going to be headlining separately, to which he replied. “No! They will be joining forces – that’s not been done really.” Michael then revealed for the fi rst time: “I will be announcing who on June 1.”

There have been weeks of speculation as to which act will be given the honour but confi rmation that there will be two combined should come as a big surprise for fans. Nineties Britpop icons Oasis reforming after a seven- year- split seems to be the best bet. Brothers

Noel and Liam Gallagher have since gone on to form separate bands, with Noel’s High Flying Birds still going strong while Liam’s

Beady Eye split last year. Glastonbury, which is 45 years old this year, kicks off on June 24.
