Work ethic would serve a better purpose in Poland

THE letter from Michael Donohue was interesting in its support for Polish people in the UK ( Letters, May 25).

It’s true that the Poles did do much to help us in the Second World War and that they are hard working and desirous of bettering themselves.

But why do they not employ these highly undoubted work ethics to improve their status in their own country? Royston Herbert,
