Grape oil ‘ healthier than olive’
OLIVE oil may not be as good for heart health and preventing diabetes as once thought, scientists say.
Grape seed oil, which is rich in linoleic acid, is better, according to a new study.
Oils made from poppy seed, sunfl ower, hemp, corn, sesame and walnut also contain linoleic acid but in lower concentrations.
People with high levels have less fat and a lower likelihood of insulin resistance.
Olive oil, containing oleic acid, did not have this benefi t, Ohio State University researchers found. The study was published in the journal Molecular Nutrition & Food Research.
