Night Manager Tom is Camilla’s new squeeze

- By Richard Palmer

TV HEARTTHROB Tom Hiddleston broke royal protocol yesterday by giving the Duchess of Cornwall a friendly squeeze.

But starstruck Camilla, a big fan of his BBC mini- series The Night Manager, didn’t mind a bit. “I’m sure I’m the envy of all the ladies,” she said.

Camilla, who was visiting Radio 2 to join Chris Evans judging a children’s creative writing competition, met his breakfast show guests in the studio.

Greeting Hiddleston, she cried out: “Hello Night Manager, how are you?”

She praised the show, which fi nished at the end of March, saying: “It was brilliant. Everybody sat gripped.”

When she complained about the series having ended, Hiddleston replied: “I apologise unreservedly.”

Asked whether he would return for another series, he said: “You never know. You’ll have to ask John le Carre.”

Camilla was less impressed that Hiddleston has not watched all six episodes because fi lming took him abroad. She jokingly raised her eyebrows and smiled as she walked off.

British actress Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark in Game Of Thrones, found herself blushing after accidentally accepting a compliment that was not given.

The Duchess told her: “Spotted you on the box as well.” Sophie replied: “I’m glad you like it. Well, you never said you liked it.”

The 20- year- old actress went red as everyone laughed – but blamed her coat for making her overheat.

The Duchess also greeted Helen George, saying: “I know you from Strictly and Call The Midwife. I followed your progress.” She joked: “It looks as though I spend my whole time watching the television.”
