Trouble brewing due to ridiculous EU kettle ruling

-

YOUR front page highlights how technically illiterate the interfering EU bureaucrats who want to limit the power of kettles, hairdryers and toasters in a bid to save energy and costs truly are (“Now EU want to ban our kettles”, May 12).

As you rightly say they have already instituted their edict on lightbulbs and vacuum cleaners.

They are so lacking in knowledge they do not realise that no matter what they do with the wattage of implements such as kettles, the amount of energy required to complete a process such as boiling water for a cup of tea is the same.

So although reducing power they are increasing the time taken to complete the process, hence no ultimate saving in energy or cost.

And to think that the Prime Minister would have us tied to a system that produces such ignorant rubbish.

What next is in their sights?
