Latest decision increases our anger to boiling point

THE sheer ignorance of the overpaid people running the EU in Brussels is amazing.

They think that forcing the public to use lower power kettles will save energy and reduce greenhouse gases.

This is absolute rubbish and will actually use more energy. It takes a certain amount of heat units to raise a litre of water from room temperature to boiling point. This can be done slowly by a lower wattage kettle or faster with a higher wattage kettle.

However, while the water is being heated there is a heat loss to the atmosphere surrounding the kettle, so the longer it takes to heat up the water the more heat is lost into that surrounding atmosphere.

This obviously results in more energy being used to boil the water and therefore increases the greenhouse gases.
