Innocent victims pay the price for leaders’ cowardice
LEO McKinstry speaks for the majority when he condemns the failed policies of our political leaders for the recent killings by extremists (“West is paying in blood for folly of its politicians”, July 25).
The Bataclan massacre in Paris in November opened our eyes to the world of fundamentalist terrorism. And yet after each atrocity politicians call for prayers for the victims, oblivious to the fact they are responsible. They cling to their dream of mass migration and a perfect world where people of all creeds live in peace side by side.
Leo says: “Blather about mental illness lets fundamental Islam off the hook, which is why so many appeasers resort to it.” This was offered to explain the Nice massacre and actions of a machete-wielding refugee who killed a pregnant young woman and the axe killings on a train in Germany.
Politicians shame themselves by putting innocent lives in danger in the pursuit of their dream. Jean Norfolk, Knottingley, W Yorks
