Muslim extremism should not be tolerated in prison
I DON’T understand how Muslim extremism has been allowed to flourish in prisons.
If tolerant and liberal societies such as the Netherlands have managed to deal with the problem then why can’t we?
The authorities need to adopt a pragmatic approach to discipline in prisons so the same infringements and curfews are applicable to all prisoners regardless of beliefs.
Any communication advocating extremism of any kind should be banned and religious ceremonies closely monitored by prison bosses.
It is unacceptable that those jailed for inciting hate and violence towards Britain and the West are allowed to continue to exhort these views in our prisons. Diane Silva, Lytham St Annes, Lancs
