Joe out of step with Pep

- @RoscoeExpress

Hart will play tonight with City five goals to the good in their Champions League play-off round second leg against Steaua Bucharest.

But it is almost certainly going to be his farewell game for City.

With 357 club appearances under his belt, not to mention 63 England caps and four Golden Gloves awards for the most clean sheets in a Premier League season, he is not going to hang around at the Etihad to be a No2 or No3 goalkeeper.

But he is adamant he only wants to go out on loan for now to enable him to assess his options either in January window or next summer. He has something of a point to prove, not just to Guardiola but also to the critics who hammered him after his mistakes against Wales and Iceland during Euro 2016. Hart knows, however, he is on something of a hiding to nothing. City were so superior last week in Romania he is unlikely to have much to do. But if his distribution is less than perfect, then his manager will see it as confirmation he has made the right call.
