We’re ready to take up baton says Wagner

- Graham Read

DAVID WAGNER has revealed the mood flowing through his table-topping side.

“We are fearless at the moment,” said the Huddersfield manager, whose side today face third-placed Wolves. “We have every reason to be confident and to trust and believe in ourselves.

“This is totally clear, but we have to be focused on our match plan and detail that we make things right.”

Norwich and Fulham are also unbeaten after four games and they have away matches at Birmingham and Blackburn.

Owen Coyle’s Blackburn are bottom but they did collect a first point of the season in a 2-2 draw with Burton last weekend.

“There is no getting away from it, we’ve had some horrendous individual errors and we need to eradicate them from our games,” said Coyle.

“That comes with that focus, that concentration, and that collective getting together to make sure that we cut out the individual errors.” There is a south Yorkshire derby as Barnsley play Rotherham, Reading head down the M4 to take on Cardiff and Sheffield Wednesday travel to Brentford.

Leeds head to Nottingham Forest on the back of successive league and cup wins, with manager Garry Monk saying: “We have to match the levels we have had, especially against Sheffield Wednesday, and improve on them again. If we can do that, we’ll be in with a chance of having a good result.”

Brighton boss Chris Hughton returns to Tyneside, promising his unbeaten Seagulls are ready to embrace the St James’ Park atmosphere.

“It’s one of the biggest games on our calendar,” said the former Newcastle manager.

“You want a group of lads that are going to embrace that and look forward to it.

“Any team wanting to do well in this division has got to go to these places and try to get a result.”
