All fired up...the new Apprentices
THEY describe themselves as “awesome”, “Tasmanian devil”, “James Bond” and “fiery pocket rocket” – with all 18 ready to be hired, or more likely fired.
The new batch of candidates starring in The Apprentice is unveiled today before the 12th series starts next week.
Under the watchful eye of Lord Sugar, the group of highly ambitious wannabes threatens to be the most cut-throat yet. And all four corners of the UK are represented by the nine men and nine women.
The fiercely competitive group includes a cake company owner from Ceredigion, a magazine art director from Dublin, a hair and beauty salon owner from Glasgow, a make-up studio owner from Northern Ireland and a digital marketing expert from London.
Lord Sugar is again joined by his special advisers Baroness Karren Brady and Claude Littner as they put the candidates through their paces to secure his £250,000 investment in their business.
Lord Sugar said: change someone’s life “It for will ever. Sometimes, some people can’t stand the heat. We’re here for 12 weeks. It is a very, very competitive situation.”
So far Lord Sugar has invested £1.25million in five businesses.
This season’s tasks include spotting treasure amid the trash in an antiques sale and creating their own brand of gin.
The Apprentice begins next Thursday on BBC One at 9pm.
