EuroMillions price rise has turned Lottery into farce
IT is no surprise there is anger at the EuroMillions price change. The whole thing is a disgrace.
A spokesman says it’s in the best interests of maximising returns to good causes. He forgot to mention shareholders of Camelot, to which I believe the bottom line goes out of the UK.
It is a good idea ruined as usual by politicians. It should never have been in private hands and tickets should be sold from dedicated kiosks, as now, but manned by those in need of help, to give them some pride and self-worth.
The Spanish way may not be perfect but it is a more sensible set-up – the “people’s lottery” ours never was. It’s time ours changed from a cash cow for investors. Anthony Allen,
