Star Meryl’s swingin’ in the rain on wet carpet

-

MERYL Streep leaves a woman star-struck as she wields a giant umbrella on a rainsodden red carpet.

The unlucky aide was able to duck just in time as the screen legend turned suddenly.

Meryl, 67, was in Rome to promote her new film Florence Foster Jenkins.

Despite the rain and blustery winds, the Oscar winner looked stunning in a silk blouse, which she teamed with a pair of coordinating trousers and elegant black heels.

In the film, Meryl plays real-life New York heiress Florence, who became an opera singer despite her painful lack of talent.

The actress studied opera in her youth, but admitted: “I was a teenager. I thought opera was boring and I wanted to be a cheerleader so I quit and started smoking.”
