Trust Jeeves to make everything all right
THE death was announced of Lieutenant-Colonel Norman Murphy, 83, an eccentric PG Wodehouse fanatic who tracked down the real-life origins of every character and location in Wodehouse’s novels. His day job with the Ministry of Defence involved looking at scenarios in the event of World War Three. To take his mind off nuclear annihilation he began reading Wodehouse.
In the event of Donald Trump becoming president my suggestion is that we all get in a full set of the Jeeves and Wooster novels.
