Ben’s Sophie reveals bump

-

BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH and his wife Sophie Hunter are expecting their second child.

The couple let the secret slip at the Hollywood premiere of Benedict’s new film Doctor Strange.

Looking dapper in a velvet blazer, the 40-year-old actor was all smiles as he stood proudly alongside theatre director Sophie, 38, who showed off her burgeoning bump in a full-length, black strapless gown.

It has been a whirlwind for the pair who married on the Isle of Wight on Valentine’s Day last year and welcomed their son Christopher just two months after.

Declaring the news of their firstborn, their representative stated: “Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter are delighted to announce the arrival of their beautiful son. We would kindly ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during these next few precious weeks.” Following the news, Benedict’s co-star on The Imitation Game Allan Leech admitted he thought the hunk would be the “greatest dad of all time”. The Sherlock star had hinted at expanding the family, saying he might “go for a Cumber-batch of boys”. He also credited fantasy film Doctor Strange for why sleepless nights with a newborn did not affect him too much. However while he is happy to work late if his projects require him to, he would rather not miss important aspects of family life. He said: “Getting home to see your family becomes the main thing. I’ll do the overtime but can I make bath time?”

LADY GAGA has risked reigniting her feud with Madonna, inset. The stars first locked horns in 2012 when Madge accused Gaga of ripping off her song Express Yourself for her own hit Born This Way. Now the 30-year-old has seemingly made a dig at the 58-year-old Like A Virgin legend, suggesting she has limited musicianship. “Madonna and I are very different,” she insists. “I wouldn’t compare us. I play a lot of instruments. I write all my own music. I spend hours and hours a day in the studio. I’m a producer. I’m a writer. “What I do is different. There is spontaneity to my work. I allow myself to fail. I’m not afraid of my flaws.” Gaga, whose new album Joanne was released yesterday, adds: “I don’t mean to disrespect Madonna, she’s a nice lady and she’s had a fantastic career. I just will not be compared to anyone any more. I am who I am and this is me.”

PHIL COLLINS says working with Adele is difficult. The Against All Odds hit-maker says the 28-year-old failed to get back to him after he worked on a track for her album 25.

“Adele called me and asked me if I wanted to write for her,” the 64-year-old reveals on ITV’s The Jonathan Ross Show tonight. “She gave me a piece of music to finish, which I went hell for leather to finish but then she got a bit difficult to find. I didn’t have a phone number, I just had an email address and I tried to stay in touch.”

Phil, who previously described Adele as a “slippery little fish”, is not the only musician left miffed about not making the cut.

Blur frontman Damon Albarn, 48, apparently called Adele “insecure” after their writing sessions didn’t materialise into anything. Adele hit back describing their time together as “one of those ‘don’t meet your idol’ moments”.

She added: “I was such a big Blur fan growing up but it was sad. I regret hanging out with him.”
