Charities in cash scandal
TWO top charities have been fined for misusing data to milk donors.
They secretly used “wealth screening” to single out those they believed might give more, the Information Commissioner ruled.
The RSPCA admitted screening all seven million of its supporters without consent and was fined £25,000.
The British Heart Foundation was fined £18,000 for screening its donors since 2009.
Both also traced new or lapsed donors using personal information from other sources and traded personal details with other charities. Abrini received cash
