Loved-up Harry in 1,700-mile detour for night with Meghan

PRINCE Harry made a 1,700mile detour to drop in on girlfriend Meghan Markle, it emerged yesterday.

The extraordin­ary diversion shows “how head over heels he is” with the American TV actress, according to a friend.

Harry, 32, was originally set to return to Britain on Sunday after his two-week Caribbean tour. But, having been away from Miss Markle, 35, for three weeks, he decided to fly to her home in Toronto instead.

His commitment­s in the UK today meant he could spend barely a day with his new love.

Harry is due to make an appearance at an annual fundraisin­g event organised by London-based broking firm Icap.

One friend said: “He was due to fly back to London with the rest of his entourage.

“But he changed his mind because they couldn’t bear to be apart. It’s a very Meghan and Harry, his detour shows how ‘head over heels’ he is short stopover as he has a charity appearance in London.

“It’s just another sign how head over heels he We’ve never seen him happy.”

Harry’s relationsh­ip with the star of legal drama Suits was revealed by the Sunday Express two months ago.

He previously showed how strongly he felt about her with a public attack on web trolls who pestered her as news of the relationsh­ip broke.

Meanwhile, the prince has said it is “great to be good” and “boring to be bad” according to a revealing new documentar­y. of is. so Once dubbed the “party prince” for his past headline-grabbing antics, Harry told ITV film-makers how he now enjoys doing charity work in Lesotho, Africa.

The programme, to be shown over Christmas, is presented by Tom Bradby, a host of ITN’s News At Ten, who said Harry opens up about his life as he returns to visit Lesotho’s Aids victims.

Writing in the Christmas issue of Radio Times, Bradby said: “The film is rather revealing about who he is and where he is in life.

“He talks candidly about the past, the present and his own future.

“But mostly he talks about how fired up he is about his position and what he can do with it.

“There is, he says, too much focus on the bad news in life.

“It’s great to be good, he tells us, and boring to be bad.”

The programme captures the moment Harry is reunited with a teenager called Mutsu, who was orphaned by Aids. The pair met during a previous visit by

the prince.
