Education and not stealth the way to improve health

-

WHILE the nation’s attention is fixed on Brexit, the Government is continuing with the ridiculous sugar tax.

This proposed stealth tax will hit the poorest the hardest and won’t improve health as most drinks and ready meals have a certain amount of sugar in them.

What is needed is more food education. People these days don’t have the time to make meals from scratch, yet that is what they need to do. That way you control the intake of sugar, not the food manufacturers.

This tax could possibly put an extra £20 on the average weekly shop, making the poor poorer.

Increase the amount of cookery classes in schools instead.
