Brit treads on Lego succession

-

A BRITON is to become the first non-Dane to run Lego in its 84-year history as the toymaker restructures its management to expand further internationally.

India-born Bali Padda, who has been with the group for 14 years and is chief operating officer, will become chief executive on January 1 replacing Jorgen Vig Knudstorp. Knudstorp, who has led the family-owned company in a turnaround over the past 12 years, will head up the new Lego Brand Group, helping to exploit what the family believes is the “still untapped potential in the brand”.

Padda said: “I am extremely honoured by this opportunity. It is a huge and exciting task and I look forward to the challenge.”
