Dashing Harry makes every minute count with Meghan
PRINCE Harry left it until the last possible moment before parting with his US actress girlfriend Meghan Markle after making a lightning dash to see her in Toronto.
He and his paramour managed 48 hours together after his 1,700-mile detour just to be with her.
The visit seemed clear proof of the couple’s affection for each other as did an apparent love token Meghan has been spotted wearing – a 14-carat gold necklace with the initials M and H on it.
The Prince had been due to head straight to London after his Caribbean tour ended at the weekend but grasped the chance to see the stunning American actress in the Canadian city where she lives.
Bundled
The besotted Prince had to dash to Toronto airport to fly back to Britain in time for a long-standing official engagement in London yesterday raising charity funds in the City.
With his head covered by a hood, Harry, 32, was bundled into a waiting Toyota people carrier with blacked out windows.
The vehicle was parked around the back of Meghan’s home as police bodyguards and security staff patrolled the area.
Harry caught a 6.30pm British Airways flight on Tuesday which landed at Heathrow at 6.25am yesterday.
Harry told the City traders he met later that after the Toronto visit which followed the 15-day official tour of the Caribbean: “I’m not entirely sure what country we’re in.”
The M and H necklace seen being worn by Meghan, 35, who stars in the hit TV legal drama Suits, is thought to be by Los Angeles designer Maya Brenner.
Her jewellery has proved popular with pop star Rihanna, who Harry met in the Caribbean.
Meghan was wearing the necklace while shopping for flowers before Harry arrived. She also posted an Instagram photo showing her pet dog Guy dressed in a Union Jack printed coat, thought to indicate “puppy love”.
She and Harry have been spotted wearing identical charity bracelets.
And last month she came to London to spend time with him at his Kensington Palace home. But the Caribbean trip meant the loving pair had to endure more than three weeks apart.
The couple’s romance was revealed by the Sunday Express in October. Harry, who is fifth in Meghan wears the necklace with the letters M and H as she shops for flowers. Prince Harry flew to visit her at her home in Toronto and stayed for 48 hours before dashing back to London for a charity event line to the throne, later confirmed the relationship as he launched a public attack on web trolls who pestered her as news of the couple broke.
The Toronto detour was a slight breach of protocol. Buckingham Palace says members of the royal family should be “actively discouraged” from combining official and personal trips.
Taxpayers will foot the bill for his bodyguards, who travel with him at all times. But Harry is expected to pay for his flights.
