Ben’s so tired of batty fans

-

BEN AFFLECK has hit out at fans obsessing over Batman following his latest film’s underwhelming display at the box office.

He has grown sick of people solely focusing on his upcoming role as The Caped Crusader, which he is also slated to direct, rather than Live By Night – his directorial follow-up to hit 2012 film Argo.

“When I was doing this movie, it took me two years to get it together but no one ever asked me ‘Where is Live By Night?’ They ask me, ‘Batman, Batman, Batman,’” spat the 44-year-old at a Q&A for the gangster flick. “Oh my God, it’s such a pain in the backside. It’s like, every time I mention Batman it gets this huge click bait.” Live By Night, also written by and starring Ben, cost £100million but has earned only £5.8million since it opened last Friday in 2,471 US cinemas.

However many critics say the movie is far from being his best.

Ben was also disappointed that despite box-office success, 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice – his debut in the franchise – was met with a lukewarm reaction from fans and critics. But conceding to Batman chat in the end, he said of the next instalment: “We’re going to take the time to make it right… and the fans are going to love it.”
