Farmer’s dirty deed

A FARMER was arrested yesterday for dumping five tons of muck on the steps of a court.

Wealthy landowner Charles Hirons, 49, from Derbyshire, used a muck spreader and tractor to carry out the protest at Derby Crown Court.

He claims he was left tens of thousands of pounds out of pocket when a law firm closed in 2009 after a probe into “financial irregularities”.

Cleaners armed with shovels and leaf blowers had to clear up the mess.

At Maidstone Crown Court in Kent yesterday, locksmiths were called out after the glass doors were glued shut.
