Those complaining about the elderly will get old too

OH how I agree with Peter Hill regarding the older generation (By The Way, January 17).

I, too, am sick and tired of being blamed for causing bed blocking at hospitals, long waits at the doctor’s and everything under the sun just because I am getting older.

The young are quick to point the finger but which age group goes out boozing uncontrollably and ends up in hospital?

Who is it that drives dangerously, endangering their own lives and those of others? Who decides they need drugs to enjoy themselves then block hospital beds while they are detoxed?

Many older people go walking, to the gym and exercise classes to keep themselves fitter to avoid medical treatment and eat healthy food. We cannot stop the ageing process. Complainers forget that they too will be old one day.
