CAPITAL IDEA: GREGGS DELIVERS TO CITY DESKS

-

HUNGRY City workers can now have pasties delivered to their desks as Greggs rolls out a new service.

The high-street baker has been sufficiently encouraged by trials in Newcastle to launch in London, initially from a couple of shops. Customers need to spend at least £20.

Greggs served up a 4.2 per cent rise in like-for-like sales last year after a “particularly strong” Christmas period.

Chief executive Roger Whiteside said it would “fight tooth and nail” to avoid putting up prices despite rising cost pressures. Shares rose 12p to 1013p as he flagged annual results slightly ahead of previous expectations.
